PROGRAMS OF THE TAMPA BAY MARINERS CLUB, INC.

We conduct regular monthly luncheon meetings, featuring guest speakers who are knowledgeable in subjects of interest to our members.

An annual meeting is conducted in December of each year.

We also conduct an annual educational seminar, including a golf tournament, and charitable fundraiser for "Make a Difference Fishing Tournament, Inc.", a 501(c)(3) organization. The seminar is for the benefit of our members and for all others who are interested in improving the Maritime Industry. Speakers have included representatives from marine insurance, admiralty law, marine construction, shipping, marine surveying, marine salvage, and many other segments of the Maritime Industry.

In 2013, in partnership with the Hillsborough Education Foundation (a 501(c)(3) organization), we started and funded the “Tampa Bay Mariners Club, Inc. Endowment Fund”, and we have made annual contributions since then.  The purpose of the Endowment Fund is to provide support for 501(c)(3) entities, which, via education, tend to improve the maritime industry.  Donations directly to the Endowment Fund are charitable contributions within the definition of Section 501(c)(3).  If you would like to participate in this effort, please let us know.

We also support the community by donating to local non-profit maritime groups. In 2016, donations were made to the following:

  1. "American Victory Ship, Inc." - preserving and interpreting maritime culture, folkways and the legacy of the Maritime Industry;
  2. "AMIKids" (Associated Marine Institute - KIDS and Pinellas Marine Institute, Inc.) - helping to change the lives of at-risk teenagers;
  3. "Eckerd College Search and Rescue" - student volunteer maritime search and rescue team providing emergency assistance free of charge;
  4. "North American Marine Environment Protection Association (NAMEPA);
  5. "Make a Difference Fishing Tournament" - helping disabled children experience the joy and camaraderie of fishing, while involving them in marine education and recreation; and
  6. "Tampa Bay Watch" - protection and restoration of the marine wetland environments of the Tampa Bay estuary through scientific and educational programs;
